The EOS 7D offers superb resolution thanks to its 18MP CMOS sensor. Offering the cinematographer the choice of flexibility and creativity. For handheld shooting in low light, the EOS 7D offers ISO speeds of up to 6400. Expandable to ISO 12800, for low light scenes.

Full HD 1080 video recording including selectable frame rates and full manual control (in 24, 25, and 30fps and 50fps and 60fps in 720p).

So, the 7D is affordable to just about all indie filmmakers, and because it uses the imaging technology of Canon’s Digital SLR still cameras, it mimics the “film look” (aka shallow depth-of-field, variable lenses and convincing film gammas) almost perfectly. On a tight budget?  This is the camera for you.  And ours comes with a wide range of support for use handheld, on sticks and Steadicam.
